The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is the world’s most recognized English proficiency test for study, work, and migration. Whether you’re aiming for Academic or General Training, success starts with structured preparation.
For Academic Study: Most universities and colleges in English-speaking countries require IELTS for admission.
For Employment: Many employers and professional organizations accept IELTS as proof of English proficiency.
For Migration: Governments in the UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and other countries require IELTS for immigration and visa applications.
IELTS Academic: For university/college admission or professional registration.
IELTS General Training: For work experience, non-academic training, or immigration.
Choose the module that matches your goals.
The IELTS test assesses four key English language skills:
Listening (approx. 40 minutes): 4 recordings, 40 questions (same for both modules).
Reading (60 minutes):
Academic: 3 long texts
General Training: Several short passages
Writing (60 minutes):
Academic: Describe a graph/chart (Task 1) + essay (Task 2)
General Training: Write a letter (Task 1) + essay (Task 2)
Speaking (11–14 minutes): Face-to-face interview, 3 parts.
Test Modes:

The IELTS test consists of four sections, each with its own timing:
Listening: Approximately 40 minutes. This section is the same for both Academic and General Training candidates and includes 4 recordings with 40 questions.
Reading: 60 minutes. Academic candidates answer questions based on three long texts, while General Training candidates work with several shorter passages.
Writing: 60 minutes. Academic candidates complete two tasks: describing a graph, table, or chart (Task 1), and writing an essay (Task 2). General Training candidates write a letter (Task 1) and an essay (Task 2).
Speaking: 11 to 14 minutes. This is a face-to-face interview with an examiner and is the same format for both Academic and General Training tests.

Each section is scored on a scale from 0 to 9 (in half-band increments).
